or so everyone was saying over a year ago....

So what about the future ZR1? supoosedly its to come out in the next year-year and half. and yet we have NO new information. cuz everyone was sayin how it would be midengine and would actually be the C8 and that would be an automatic only. but it dont matter what it will and wont have the fact is we got no new information. you would think if one were coming out for the 2017 model year spyshots and test cars would be spotted by now!?

and really there really hasnt been any new articles or speculation in over a year? so what gives?

If there’s going to be a ZR1 I can’t fathom how much power it would have. To think that the C6 model was on par with a Murcielago power wise, a new one would likely be giving the LP750s a run for their money and leaving the Viper yet further irrelevant.

If anything, I would suspect any forthcoming ZR1 project at GM is going to be kept under the wraps like Ford did with the GT.

I thought GM said that this gen Z06 was going to be the “king of the hill” Corvette with no plans for a ZR1?

Of course, I doubt they had any serious plans re the C6 ZR1 when the C6 was introduced, so who knows.

Further irrelevent? The Viper ACR just wiped the floor with the “fastest best eat track Vette evar!” This after Chevy fudged the car to get it to run more than half a lap without overheating.

I can’t see a new ZR1 putting out much more power. The FR platform can only take so much power before it becomes unmanageable at the limit, and it sounds like it’s coming close to that limit.
